Installation Checklist 5: Belt-Positioning Booster Seat Significant: This is a general checklist designed to be applied in combination with your booster seat instruction manual along with your vehicle owner's manual. To obtain the most from this checklist, have those guides handy for fast reference. A kid who is both under age 8 and shorter than 4 feet 9 inches to be fastened in a child safety seat or booster is required by the child passenger safety law in Minnesota.

Under this law, a kid cannot utilize a seat belt until they are age 8 or 4 feet 9 inches tall -- whichever comes first. It is suggested to keep a child based on their height, rather than their age. Booster seats are used by children who've outgrown a car seat with a harness. Most kids under the age of eight aren't large enough to fit the vehicle seat belt properly. In fact, they may be injured by the belt in a crash. The design of the booster seat helps keep the lap belt low on the hips and also the shoulder belt over the torso (rather than across the neck).

It also makes children more comfortable: the raised base gives them a view that is better and allows their legs to bend generally. You can find two varieties of boosters: high- no and back -back. 1) Check the seat is right for kid's weight and stature. (Height and weight limitations vary by manufacturer; check labels on the booster seat for certain limits.) Make use of a booster seat until the child attains the upper weight limit or can pass the seat belt fit test.

Most children usually do not fit the vehicle seat belt until ages eight to ten, having a minimum height of four feet nine inches. 2) Put the booster seat in the back cronotermostato (nswrovers.com) seat of the car. Put the booster seat in a seating position designed with a lap and shoulder belt. Booster seats cannot be used using a lap belt only. (The front passenger seat may be an option in the event the back seat comes with lap belts only.) Vehicles with lap belts only. You have to check labels on the booster seat, the booster seat instruction manual and the vehicle.

Position the booster seat so the child rides sitting upright 3) Buckle the kid to the booster seat. Place the shoulder and lap belt on the other side of the kid and buckle the safety belt. Fix the lap belt across the abdomen, not to get a close fit over the child's upper thighs. Fix the shoulder belt and thread it through the shoulder belt positioner. The shoulder part must lay close and angled in the shoulder point to the point that was hip.
