로마서 6: 22절이 칭의-성화-영생의 구원의 과정과 성경이 말씀하는 통전적인 구원교리를 한 문장으로 집약하여 잘 가르쳐 주고 있을을 알 수 있습니다:


16.        너희 자신을 종으로 드려 누구에게 순종하든지 그 순종함을 받는 자의 종이 되는 줄을 너희가 알지 못하느냐 혹은 죄의 종으로 사망에 이르고 혹은 순종의 종으로 의에 이르느니라
17.        하나님께 감사하리로다 너희가 본래 죄의 종이더니 너희에게 전하여 준바 교훈의 본을 마음으로 순종하여
18.        죄에게서 해방되어 의에게 종이 되었느니라
19.        너희 육신이 연약하므로 내가 사람의 예대로 말하노니 전에 너희가 너희 지체를 부정과 불법에 드려 불법에 이른것 같이 이제는 너희 지체를 의에게 종으로 드려 거룩함에 이르라
20.        너희가 죄의 종이 되었을 때에는 의에 대하여 자유하였느니라         

16.        Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
17.        But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted.
18.        You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness.
19.        I put this in human terms because you are weak in your natural selves. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to ever-increasing wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness.
20.        When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the control of righteousness.

21.        너희가 그 때에 무슨 열매를 얻었느뇨 이제는 너희가 그 일을 부끄러워하나니 이는 그 마지막이 사망임이니라
22.        그러나 이제는 너희가 죄에게서 해방되고 하나님께 종이 되어 거룩함에 이르는 열매를 얻었으니 이 마지막은 영생이라         

21.        What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death!
22.        But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.

6: 22절은 칭의-성화-영생의 구원의 과정과 성경이 말씀하는 통전적인 구원교리를 한 문장으로 집약하여 잘 가르쳐 주고 있습니다:

”But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life”

위에서 말씀하는slaves to God 란 6: 16이”Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey--whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? “ 라고 잘 풀이해 주고 있습니다.

즉 믿음이란 순종이라는말씀이지요. 또한 죄를 짓는 생활을 계속하면 죽음에 이르고 하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 삶을 살아야 의로움에 이르게 됨을 가르치고 있습니다.

롬 10: 16도 믿음이 순종임을 잘 가르쳐 주고 있지요: “But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" 복음에 순종치 않는 것은 믿음이 아니란 말씀 입니다.

그러므로 6:22절은 죄( 죄의 속성에 순종하는 육신적인 삶)에서 해방되어 하나님의 종(하나님의 말씀에 순종하는 삶을 사는 신자)이 됨으로써 거룩함에 이르는 열매를 맺게되어 결과적으로 마침네 영생에 이르게 된다는 말씀하심으로 칭의 - 성화 - 영생의 구원의 진리를 우리에게 집약적으로 가르쳐 주고 있음을 알 수 있습니다.
